The Difference is the Plastic Surgeon
Put simply, your choice of hair transplant provider matters. They are not interchangeable. And that’s where Dr. Mandraccia of Fort Myers offers a unique advantage to his patients.
Double-board-certified in both plastic surgery and general surgery, Dr. Mandraccia has the experience and know-how to make your hair restoration experience a successful one. As the long-time medical director of Advanced Medical Hair Centers®, Dr. Mandraccia has established his reputation with his patients and other doctors.
When you visit our office for a hair transplant consultation, you’ll speak to Dr. Mandraccia personally and have the opportunity to ask him the full range of questions. This isn’t usually the case with other hair restoration providers.
How Surgical Hair Transplant Works
There are a range of hair transplantation services, but Dr. Mandraccia usually relies on follicular unit extraction (FUE). This plastic surgery is a safe, proven and effective option. FUE is designed to be both more aesthetically pleasing and less physically traumatizing than other forms of surgical hair restoration. A “follicular unit” is just a small clump of anywhere from one to four hairs. In an FUE procedure, Dr. Mandraccia removes a number of follicular units, which are then transplanted into the treatment area. This process typically results in much more inconspicuous scarring; namely, many tiny, almost invisible scars spread over the donor area, instead of one, long scar in the same location. This is something our patients appreciate. In some cases, Dr. Mandraccia can also take advantage of Plasma Rich in Growth Factors®, or PRGF, to stimulate hair growth and ease healing. These factors are taken from your body’s own plasma supply.
Dr. Mandraccia will discuss all of your options and help you decide on the surgical hair restoration process that is appropriate for you.
