The Breast Lift Fort Myers Procedure
Breast lift surgery is usually done following a similar technique to breast reduction surgery. Dr. Mandraccia uses an anchor-shaped incision that circles the areola and extends from the nipple to the crease at the bottom of your breast. Once the excess skin is removed, the nipple is moved higher up on the breast and the incision is closed.
Recovery from Breast Lift Surgery
Following the breast lift procedure, you breasts will be swollen and bruised for a few days, but the pain can be controlled with medication prescribed by Dr. Mandraccia. You’ll need to wear a surgical bra or an elastic bandage to control swelling and aid in the recovery process for about three or four weeks. Dr. Mandraccia will remove the stitches and in a week or two, you will be able to resume most non-strenuous activities.
Risks & Complications of a Mastoplexy
Breast lift surgery is a fairly complicated procedure, and it does carry some risks – like all surgery does. The most common risks are:
- An adverse reaction to anesthesia
- Unevenly positioned nipples
- Permanent loss of feeling in nipples or breasts
- Bleeding and infection
Dr. Mandraccia offers a certified, on-site surgery center for maximum comfort and privacy during you breast lift procedure. This facility has recently been certified by the Florida Board of Health at top grade. Patients often opt for general anesthesia in the surgery center, which is jointly owned by Lee Memorial and Naples Community Hospitals. Dr. Mandraccia can answer all of your breast lift questions during your personal consultation.
